Robert E. Weissenstein is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, based in New York. He is Chief Investment Officer for Private Banking USA and is responsible for investment strategy and asset allocation. Working across the Firm’s global resources, he is responsible for developing the strategic framework and solutions for private investors. Mr. Weissenstein is a frequent contributor to CNBC and Bloomberg Television. Mr. Weissenstein has extensive experience in the investment business. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2004, he was global head of Investment Management for the JP Morgan Private Bank. During his 19 years there and at its predecessor institutions, he held a number of positions including research analyst, portfolio manager for private clients, foundations and institutions, and head of portfolio management for the Chase Manhattan Private Bank. Mr. Weissenstein began his investment career in 1978 at Merrill Lynch where he was a financial advisor and portfolio analyst. Mr. Weissenstein received a B.A. from Cornell University in 1978. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and also holds the Series 7 and 24 securities licenses.
