Gopal Jain

Gopal Jain, Partner, has been investing in Indian equities from an early age and has been a professional investor in the Indian capital markets for over 14 years. As an entrepreneur Mr. Jain has helped create a number of ventures in the financial services sector. Prior to founding Gaja Advisors, Mr. Jain was Senior Director/Managing Director, India of View Group L.P. an India-focused venture capital firm based in Boston. Mr. Jain worked with View from 1999 to 2004 and helped create and manage a portfolio of investments for View including Tracmail, Stream Tracmail, India Life Hewitt, III, Ingenero and Integreon.  Prior to View, Mr. Jain held a number of positions of increasing seniority and finally President and Head of Research in VLS Finance Ltd., a financial services firm. He worked for the firm from late 1993 to early 1999 and co-managed the firm’s proprietary trading and investment portfolio in public and private markets. Mr. Jain made multiple private equity investments at VLS. For example, he helped make an investment in Television Eighteen Ltd which is the parent of CNBC India. He also helped set up a broking company and an international asset management business for VLS
