O. Mason Hawkins

Chairman and CEO, Southeastern Asset Management

Hawkins has been in the investment business for more than 25 years, and has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Southeastern Asset Management since 1975.  He and his partners manage the Longleaf Partners Funds. Mr. Hawkins attended the University of Florida where he earned a B.A. in Finance, and the University of Georgia where he earned an M.B.A. in Finance. Hawkins holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.Southeastern Asset Management Inc, investment adviser to the Longleaf Partners Funds, is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Southeastern was founded in 1975 and currently has over $30 B in assets under management. Longleaf Partners Fund seeks long-term capital growth by investing primarily in a limited number of mid and large-cap companies believed to be significantly undervalued. They are value investors. The Funds seek to achieve superior long-term performance by acquiring equity securities of financially strong, well-managed companies run by capable managements at market prices significantly below their assessment of the business value. They sell stocks when they approach our appraisal. They view equity investments as ownership in a business enterprise.
