Joshua Blaine

Joshua Blaine is a Senior Managing Director in Strategic Partners, Blackstone’s secondary private fund of funds business, which was acquired from Credit Suisse in August 2013. Mr. Blaine is based in New York and sits on the Investment Committee for each of the SP Funds.  He founded the Strategic Partners London office in 2004. Since joining Strategic Partners in 2001, Mr. Blaine has led or been involved in several hundred secondary transactions, co-investments and primary fund commitments on a global basis across the LBO, mezzanine/credit, real estate, venture capital and fund-of-funds categories.  He is currently an advisory board member or observer of several U.S. and European buyout and mezzanine funds. Before joining Strategic Partners, Mr. Blaine worked in the Private Fund Group at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he was part of a small dedicated team responsible for selling almost $2 billion of the firms private equity partnership interests through a series of secondary market transactions.  He previously worked in the Corporate Finance Department at UBS. Mr. Blaine received a B.S.M. in finance from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.  He graduated cum laude and was the recipient of the Dean’s Service Award.  Mr. Blaine is a member of the Tulane Fund Advisory Board and a member of the City Harvest Leadership Council.
