Mr. Shikiar began his career as a Research Analyst and Associate Portfolio Manager at Mates Investment Fund from 1968 to 1971. He served as a Portfolio Manager at Reynolds Securities from 1971 to 1973, and from 1973 to 1983 acted as Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Wertheim & Company. Mr. Shikiar then took on the role of Managing Director and Senior Investment Officer at Furman Selz Capital Management from 1983 to 1985. Mr. Shikiar served as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager at Prudential Securities Investment Management from 1985 to 1993. He joined Omega Advisors as a General Partner and Portfolio Manager in 1994. Mr. Shikiar founded Shikiar Asset Management Inc. in 1995. Mr. Shikiar has served on the Board of Directors of three publicly traded companies, one listed on the NYSE, one listed on the AMEX, and one NASDAQ listed. Mr. Shikiar is a member of both the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Financial Analysts Federation. He is a trustee of Baruch College, and Chairman of Baruch’s Endowment Investment Committee.
