Michael Parker

Michael Parker serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Minlam Asset Management and represents the family office of John Muse as an investor in the Minlam Microfinance Fund.Prior to serving CEO of Minlam Asset Management, Mr. Parker served as Managing Director & Portfolio Manager of Mirador Capital Management, a hedge fund focused on the energy, media, financial services and consumer non-durable industries.  In this capacity, Mr. Parker established a network of private industry research sources, including one of the largest p&c insurance brokers and risk management consulting firms in the U.S.  From 1994 to 2004, Mr. Parker was a Managing Director & Portfolio Manager at Spears, Benzak, Salomon & Farrell (“SBSF”), a $5 billion investment management firm based in New York.  From January 2000 through December 31, 2003, Mr. Parker was Co-Portfolio Manager of SBSF’s Institutional Composite.  His cumulative net performance during this period exceeded the S&P 500 Index by more than 4,000 basis points.  Mr. Parker was a corporate finance attorney at King & Spalding in Atlanta from 1992 to 1994.  Mr. Parker earned a BA from University of Richmond; a JD from University of Georgia, where he was the Welbourne B. Cody academic scholar and Editor of Georgia Law Review; and a MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
