Before joining Balestra, Doug McKeige was a Managing Partner with Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann, LLP, a New York based law firm that prosecutes securities litigation claims on behalf its clients. During his tenure at the firm, he helped advise the firm's institutional clients (principally public pension funds and hedge funds) with respect to the evaluation and commencement of securities claims. These claims resulted in recoveries in excess of $12 billion and helped lead to positive changes in corporate governance structures, Wall Street due diligence of new offerings, and how Boards of Directors function. Mr. McKeige was a regular speaker on securities litigation subjects at a variety of national pension fund organizations. Mr. McKeige began his career as an associate in the litigation department at Paul Weiss RifkindWharton & Garrison, where he worked on the Michael Milken/Drexel Burnham Lambert matter in the late 1980s. Mr. McKeige graduated from Tufts University, cum laude, in 1979 with a B.A. in Economics and received a J.D., magna cum laude, in 1986 from Tulane University where he served as Articles Editor of the Tulane Law Review.
