David Carmel is the co‐founder and Chief Operating Officer of Carmel Asset Management. From 2004 to 2008, he served as Vice President of StemCyte, Inc, a stem cell therapeutics company with operations in the United States, Taiwan, and India. During his tenure at StemCyte, the company grew from 40 to 200 employees and increased revenue 1,800%. While still in college, Mr. Carmel co‐founded Jumpstart, a national service program that pairs college students one‐on‐one with preschoolers needing individualattention. Each year, Jumpstart Corps members are serving more than one million hours with 15,000 preschool children in 60 communities across America. Mr. Carmel was one of thirteen people (out of over 1,000 applicants) selected to join the 2002‐03 class of White House Fellows, and was awarded the Secretary’s Honor Award from the United States Department of the Treasury in 2003. He is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and a board member for Jumpstart and the New York Stem Cell Foundation. Mr. Carmel earned a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
