James Hourdequin

Managing Director, The Lyme Timber Company LP

 James W. Hourdequin joined Lyme in 2005 and leads Lyme’s working land investment strategies. Over the past eight years, he has managed the acquisition of over 550,000 acres of timberland throughout the US and Canada.  Jim has led Lyme’s focus on the acquisition yield-producing lands where value can be created through active log marketing and operations.  Jim has expertise in structuring transactions and in accessing attractive long-term financing such as the New Markets Tax Credit program.  Prior to Lyme, Jim co-founded Long View Forest Inc., a logging and forestry services business based in Vermont, where he remains involved as an owner and member of the management team. He serves on the Board of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Upper Valley Region and was a founding board member of the Center for Woodlands Education, publisher of Northern Woodlands. Jim earned an M.B.A. with Distinction from the Harvard Business School and a B.A. cum laude in Biology from Dartmouth College.
