Myrna M. Rivera, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, is a Certified Investment Management Analyst ("CIMA®"), member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and a Certified Investment Management Consultant. An undergraduate from the University of Puerto Rico, Class of 1974, and a Masters Graduate from Lehman College of the City University of New York, Class of 1975, both honors majors in Mathematics, she is a former Director and Senior Vice President of the Consulting Group at Salomon Smith Barney. There she devoted the focus of her sixteen year tenure to institutional and high net worth investment management consulting and is a Smith Barney John Ellis Jr. Excellence Award Recipient for her dedication and service to institutional investment management consulting.
Ms. Rivera is nationally recognized as a pioneer in this field, having contributed to developing standard practices employed today for endowments and foundations, public and corporate pension funds, insurance companies and credit unions for the management of large investment portfolios. In 1996 she was appointed to the "Top 100 Honorary Council" by the Business Women's Network in Washington, D.C. In 1999, she became the first Hispanic woman in the United States and Puerto Rico to be elected to the "Who's Who of Investment Management Consulting".
Ms. Rivera has received numerous recognitions for her leadership in financial services. In 2005, she received the Joyce Johnson Award of the National Association of Securities Professionals, for her contribution to the advancement of women and minorities in financial services, as well as the 2005 Highest Leaf Award from the Women’s Venture Fund of New York, for entrepreneurial excellence. Ms. Rivera recently received the 2006 Alumni Achievement Award from her Alma Mater, CUNY’s Lehman College. She also appears in the “Top 100 Influential Hispanics” of Hispanic Business Magazine.
Ms. Rivera is a member of the National Board of ASPIRA, which she chaired for five years, founding member of the Comisión de Ciudadanos al Rescate de Caimito, a community based organization in San Juan, and trustee for Música de Cámara in New York and of the Lehman College Foundation in New York, where she chairs the Investment Committee. She is also on the board of the National Association of Securities Professionals, a trade organization dedicated to the advancement of women and minorities in financial services.
