Martin Gammon

Director of Business Development and Museum Services, Bonhams & Butterfields

Dr. Martin Gammon is Vice President of Business Development & Museum Services for Bonhams Auctioneers, and is a specialist in the field of Rare Books & Manuscripts. He is also a regular appraiser on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow. Prior to joining Bonhams, Dr. Gammon was on the faculty of the Philosophy Department at Stanford University and a Research Fellow at Yale University. He completed his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, following undergraduate studies at Cornell University and Wadham College, Oxford. He is widely published in academic journals on the philosophy of art. He is also the author of the forthcoming book, Deaccessioning and its Discontents: The Museum and the Marketplace, (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 2017).
