Benjamin Cunningham

BENJAMIN CUNNINGHAM, CIMA, Director, BlackRock, is a member of the Private Wealth Advisory Group within BlackRock’s U.S. Wealth Advisory Channel and a member of BlackRock Alternative Specialists (BAS). He focuses on private wealth management and institutional consultant channels, as well as business development for BlackRock’s hedge fund, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure platforms across the Western U.S. Mr. Cunningham’s service with the firm dates back to 2010. During his tenure at BlackRock, he has held several client development and client relationship roles, most recently supporting private wealth management and private bank channels. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Cunningham was a Regional Director of Morgan Stanley’s Consulting Group where he was responsible for growing the consulting business in Morgan Stanley offices from San Diego to San Francisco, including the Private Wealth Management Offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston. He provided advice in the asset allocation, investment selection and ongoing client reviews with many of the firm’s top clients and prospects, including foundations, endowments, unions, and ultra-high net worth individuals. From 1999 to 2006, Mr. Cunningham was a Senior Analyst of Investment Manager Research at both Morgan Stanley and before that he held the same role at UBS. Mr. Cunningham earned a BS in human and organizational development from Vanderbilt University in 1999. He has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation through the Investment Management Consultants Association in conjunction with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
