Jordan Shlain

Jordan Shlain is a practicing primary care physician, the Founder & CEO of Private Medical and a nationally recognized thought leader on national health issues. Private Medical was established in 2002 to take care of high net worth, multi-generation families. He has spent the past 20 years building the ultimate family office for health and medicine with an impressive team of internists, pediatricians, naturopathic doctors, and additional experts in women’s health and infectious diseases. They have built strategic relationships with elite institutions around the country to ensure their clients receive the highest caliber, nuanced expertise. Furthermore, Private Medical is built on the design principles that honor the complexities of health, deep relationships, time and strategic planning. Their thesis rests on the premise of proactivity, accessibility and follow up. Private Medical has offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Los Angeles. He has served as a Mayoral appointed Commissioner on the Health Service Systems Board of San Francisco and is a guest professor at Princeton, Columbia, Mt. Sinai, and UC Berkeley. He has also has served as an advisor to a host of emerging and established healthcare companies. He is the founder and editor in chief of ?Tincture.io?, an online publication dedicated to translating ‘what matters’ in healthcare and the founding chairman of the non-profit EatREAL, whose mission is to certify food service establishments in an attempt to reverse processed food induced diabetes / metabolic syndrome; the leading cause of our exploding healthcare costs. In 2009, Dr. Shlain used his office to design and develop Healthloop, a SasS patient engagement company that engages patients on their medical journey by using his trademarked “digital empathy” platform. While Private Medical caters to an exclusive group, Healthloop was built to democratize ‘concierge medicine’ for all doctors and patients. Healthloop is currently used in over 70 hospitals around the country with demonstrable results proving better outcomes and lower costs. Dr. Shlain received his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School and completed his clinical training at California Pacific Medical Center in conjunction with UCSF. His undergraduate work was at University of California at Berkeley in anatomy and physiology. After graduating university, and before medical school, Dr. Shlain worked as a high school teacher in rural, western Kenya for Harvard affiliated WorldTeach where he taught chemistry, physics and biology in Swahili.
