Mark Richards

MARK RICHARDS has worked with many individuals, family-owned businesses and privately-owned companies for nearly 40 years as an advisor to affluent families. Prior to joining The Madison Group, Mark had been the Founder and President of the M.J. Richards Company which was also a Denver-based financial services organization serving the same clientele. Twenty-years ago, the M.J. Richards Company merged with The Madison Group with The Madison Group as the surviving entity. The Madison Group is approaching its 50th anniversary in 2018. An especially enjoyable part of Mark’s career has been the requests to speak to industry groups, both within the financial services industry and our clients’ industry organizations. Equally enjoyable has been his work with The Economic Club of Colorado as both a Board Member and a past Chairman, as well as his work with Starlight Children’s Foundation of Colorado in the founding of the Colorado chapter.Mark graduated from Oneonta State University of New York in 1977. In addition, he has acquired the professional designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP). He has also have served as the past Chair of the AALU Wealth Transfer Committee. The Madison Group’s securities work is done as a registered representative of M Holdings Securities, Inc. It has been his great pleasure to serve alongside some of the most talented professionals in providing life changing advice to his clients for the benefit of their families.Mark enjoys time with his family and has 3 children who keep him young. He has always been an avid sports participant and has competed in triathlons and as a cyclist and marathoner. Now he enjoys the gravity-free environment of swimming and competing as an open water swimmer. During the winter, Mark enjoys skiing in Colorado with his younger children, Soleil and Jasper. His wife, Petra, is in charge of the family’s cultural exposure. As a German citizen, she has introduced their children to life as bilingual, bicultural dual citizenship children.
