Mr. Au is the founder of CEC Management Ltd which manages CEC Ltd, a US$80 million close-ended investment holding company focusing on buy-outs in the PRC. Since its inception in 2004, CEC had already acquired controlling stakes in a food and beverage retail/wholesale operation in Guangzhou, a leading eyewear retail/wholesale business in Shanghai, and a listed company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Mr. Au is also Managing Direct of CEDF, a US$ 40 million investment holding company currently, in winding-up mode after achieving 2.3 times return on investment. Its significant investments included the listed Harbin Brewery Group Limited (SEHK 249) Harbin was subsequently privatized after it’s acquisition by AnheuserBusch in 2004. From 1992 to 1994, Mr. Au was the co-founder and Managing Director of a Inter Asian Group which made direct investments in the PRC focusing on media, transportation and logistic industries. From 1988 to 1991, Mr. Au was the Executive Director of Merchant Banking for Royal Trust Asia. Mr. Au started his career as a banker and had spent 12 years with Citibank N.A. He received a B.S. in Economics and a M.B.A. from New York University.
