Amlan Roy is Head of Global Demographics and Pensions Research for the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse in London. His research on demographics and pensions links those areas to economic growth, sectors, allocation, asset prices, health, migration and insurance. He also presents to and advises a wide range of investors, governments and central banks around the world. Dr. Roy is a Senior Research Associate of London School of Economics’ Financial Markets Group and UBS Pensions Research Centre. He is guest professor for LondonBusinessSchool’s Finance department. In his previous position as Emerging Markets Strategist, Dr. Roy developed several Global Emerging Markets models used by institutional clients as well as government treasury departments and central banks. He has served as an expert on financial architecture and crises modeling at forums of the Bank of England and the UK Treasury. Before joining Credit Suisse in 1998, Dr. Roy spent over 10 years in academia. He has a Master of Arts degree and PhD in Financial Economics from the University of Iowa, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Economics and Math from the University of Delhi.
