Prior to joining Stadia Capital in May 2005, Greg Markel was Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at State Street Research & Management where he co-managed the State Street Research Investment Trust Portfolio since October 2002. Upon joining State Street Research in 1997, Markel was an analyst on the investment trust and was made an Associate Portfolio Manager on the fund from 1999 through October 2002. Prior to joining State Street Research in July 1997, Markel was a fixed income analyst at Fidelity Investments from 1991 and 1997. He analyzed and recommended both investment grade and high-yield municipal bonds for Fidelity’s municipal mutual funds. From July 1986 through July 1989, Markel worked as an analyst in the mergers and acquisitions department at Morgan Stanley. In 1989, he worked as an analyst at Morgan Stanley International in London. Markel graduated in 1991 with an MBA from the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in finance and accounting. He also graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in economics and psychology from Brown University in 1986. (Member of Stadia’s 3 member investment committee).
