Under his vision and leadership, the agency has grown from fewer than ten people to one of the largest agencies in the mid-Atlantic region. Along with winning many national and international creative and marketing awards and establishing several pioneering research techniques, he considers the long-standing, productive client relationships the agency has established as the most meaningful way to measure ability and success. After being educated at the University of Virginia, Rob began his post-graduate work as a copywriter for the agency. From there becoming president of his agency at the tender age of 27, he has spent his career leading Williams Whittle to the top of mid-Atlantic marketing concerns. As an early adopter in the business world, he has maintained the agency focus on innovation by mixing in new strategies with old, tried and true methods. Rob led Williams Whittle into integrated marketing in the early ’80s and we haven’t looked back since. Now, of course, integrated means a heavy digital presence in addition to the other marketing disciplines. To that end, Rob founded Williams Whittle Digital, which focuses on web marketing. This discipline is all about defining niches online, creating targeted messages against those audiences and executing and measuring campaigns in many different strikes as opposed to one huge general strike. In 2009, Rob was awarded the Silver Medal Award, the highest personal honor from the American Advertising Federation and the DC Ad Club.Rob is married with two lovely daughters as well as a Jack Russell terrier. When he is not leading one of the most successful agencies in the mid-Atlantic region, you can find him spending time at his family’s vacation home on the Northern Neck of Virginia. As well as serving as Chairman of the Board for Goodwin House, a two-campus continuous care retirement community in Northern Virginia.
