Sam Ifergan

Sam Ifergan is the President and CEO of iGan Partners, a Toronto-based venture group he founded in 2012 and that invests in medical imaging, healthcare IT and data-driven SaaS companies. He has over 20 years of entrepreneurial, technology and venture capital experience.As an entrepreneur, Sam co-founded, Visualsonics, a medical imaging company that pioneered the first ultra-high frequency ultrasound systems.  It was sold to Fuji-Sonosite in 2011.   He also founded Brighter Minds, a digital media company which had an IPO in 2006, and Tri-Link Technologies, an IP-PBX company that was sold to Teltronics in 2001.With iGan Partners, Sam is the lead investor and Chairman of eSight which has developed electronic eyewear that enable the legally blind to actually see.  He was the first VC investor and director of Meta, AI for life science that was sold to Chan Zuckerberg in 2017.Among the companies Sam is currently a director in are:• Exact Imaging  (high-resolution ultrasound system for imaging prostate cancer)• Flosonics (disposable ultrasound patch fined tuned for the carotid arterty)• MolecuLight,  (imaging technology with unique applications in wound care and cancer surgery)• Think Research (leading clinical decision support SaaS company)Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Sam has advised fortune 500 companies as a strategy consultant, and has held general management positions where he led the deployment of enterprise technology. Sam has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from the John Molson School of Business.
