Larry “Chip” Seibert

Larry brings nearly 30 years of experience in the financial industry to his role as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Kilowatt Labs. Over the past three decades, he has worked in public, private, and startup markets, and has founded, invested in, and run numerous early-stage companies in the technology and healthcare industries.  After beginning his career as an accountant for Peat Marwick (currently KPMG), Larry moved to Goldman Sachs as a Senior Analyst where he learned the art and science of trading public investment vehicles working for the company’s head equity trader and the block and convertible trading desks. In 1990, he joined Avatar Associates, a New York-based investment management firm co-founded by noted Wall Street pioneer Marty Zweig. Over the course of his 20-year tenure at Avatar, Larry advanced from his initial role in operations to Security Analyst, and Portfolio Manager, specializing in the technology, telecom, and healthcare sectors for institutional and high net worth clients. After returning to Avatar from a 4-year position as Director of Research at Barrett Associates (currently Barrett Asset Management, LLC), Larry acquired Avatar with partner Ted Theodore in 2008, becoming the company’s Chief Financial and Operations Officer as well as Co-Chief Investment Officer. A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, Larry holds a Master of Business Administration from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia University.
