Jay Lobell
Mr. Lobell co-founded GMF Real Estate in late 2015 and is responsible for sourcing healthcare and real estate opportunities as well as business development. For eight years prior to founding GMF Real Estate, Jay served as President of Meridian Capital Group, LLC, the nation’s second-largest mortgage intermediary. His focus at Meridian included charting business strategy, including the creation and implementation of new business activities, including Beech Street Capital, an agency lender, and Meridian Investment Sales, a sales brokerage. During that time frame, Jay also undertook several dozen real estate investments and acquisitions, including under the Co-GP strategy that is now the foundation of GMF. Prior to joining Meridian, Jay served as President and Chief Operating Officer of a national biotechnology development and investment firm. He currently serves on the boards of certain healthcare operating companies. Previous to that, Jay was a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, a national law firm, where he advised companies and individuals in a variety of regulatory, transactional and litigation matters. He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was Senior Editor of the Yale Law Journal.
