Troy Rice is a TIGER 21 Chair of Scottsdale 01, 03 and 04 and is a Master Chair for Vistage International. He has been an executive and/or founder of over 20 start-ups or early-stage ventures, as well as an investor in over 20 more. Beyond early-stage companies, Rice has been an executive of several mid-cap companies including Petsmart, Comfort Systems USA, TransUnion, Universal Technical Institute, Trammell Crow, and CIBT. Currently, Rice serves on the Boards of CIBT Education Group (Symbol: MBAIF), Statistics and Data Corporation, Strategic Solar Energy, HR Pivot, Fusebox, and Cooper Companies. His academic background includes a BS in Accounting from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Arizona State University. Rice is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). -

Steve Schmitz, Chair of Scottsdale 02, boasts over 30 years as an entrepreneur and CEO specializing in capital investment. Following the 2008 housing crash, he co-founded American Residential Properties, defying norms as a contrarian investor. Starting small, the firm burgeoned, raising over $1.4 billion in equity and debt, transforming into a public REIT (NYSE:ARPI), managing nearly 10,000 homes in twelve states before its 2016 acquisition by American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE:AMH). Schmitz now leads America’s Specialty Finance Company, offering short-term bridge financing to real estate entrepreneurs. Previously, his fifteen-year tenure in the chain restaurant industry culminated as Chief Investment Officer of Franchise Finance Corporation of America (NYSE:FFA), later sold to GE Capital. Schmitz, embracing personal growth, values laughter’s therapeutic effect. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Franklin University, an MBA from Pennsylvania State University, and authored "Whatever-it-Takes: How we went from the Back Patio to the NYSE in Five Years." -

He also serves as a Chair at TIGER 21, advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals on transitioning from entrepreneurs to wealth managers. As a Business Guide at Next Level Growth, Jim helps companies enhance their value through strategic and operational excellence. A passionate advocate for peer groups, Jim has been active with the Arizona Chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) and the Arizona Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), where he was a past Chapter Chair. He contributes to publications on real estate and investment and enjoys skiing, scuba diving, and traveling with his family.
