Tech Wealth Creators Navigate “Sudden Wealth Syndrome” as AI Boom Accelerates

The rapid pace of AI-driven exits is creating a new challenge for tech entrepreneurs: financial freedom achieved faster than they can adapt to it. According to a recent Bloomberg article, many founders and even midlevel employees are experiencing “sudden wealth syndrome”—psychological distress following life-changing liquidity events. 

TIGER 21 Founder and Chairman Michael Sonnenfeldt addresses this phenomenon with characteristic clarity: “Rich or poor, it’s good to have money,” he notes, “but plenty of wealthy people are ill-adjusted.”  While financial security can eliminate the need to accumulate, it cannot determine what comes after.
