Reuben S. Leibowitz (“RSL”) founded JEN in 2005 after a 22 year career at Warburg Pincus (“WP”). JEN raised its first fund, JEN I, with $93 million in committed capital in November 2005. JEN I has committed to eight investments since inception, including: Wall Homes, Pacific Terra Holdings, JEN Pacific Homes and Observatory Place. RSL joined WP as a Managing Director in 1984 after a 15 year career in public accounting. He spent a majority of his time until 2003 in various administrative roles while he developed and led WP's activities in real estate investing. His administrative duties included helping set and implement WP's long term strategy and structuring WP's operating entities and private equity funds, including finance, legal and tax. RSL is an attorney and CPA. He received a B.S. (Brooklyn College), M.B.A. (Stern School of NYU), J.D. (Brooklyn Law School), and LL.M. (NYU School of Law). He is a director of Simon Property Group, the largest U.S. REIT, and has been a director of 4 other New York Stock Exchange listed companies (Chelsea Property, Grubb & Ellis, Lennar, Pacific Greystone) and eight other companies. He is an Overseer of the Stern School of Business (NYU) and a member of Hillel's International Board of Governors.
