Jeri Sedlar is a business owner, national speaker, Senior Advisor to The Conference Board on Mature Workforce Issues and author of the highly acclaimed books, DON’T RETIRE, REWIRE! and ON TARGET- Enhance Your Life and Ensure Your Success. She is the creator of the concept of rewirement®, or as she defines it, the “new way to do retirement” which focuses on finding new purpose, new passions and new work possibilities in the future that promote healthy and productive outcomes. Ms. Sedlar travels the country speaking on issues relating to “retirement risk and reward” from the employer and employee perspective. Ms. Sedlar has appeared on the TODAY Show, CNN and the Nightly news with Tom Brokaw. She is frequently quoted in The New York Times, Business Week and The Wall Street Journal and is a monthly contributor to HORSESMOUTH, a financial newsletter. Ms. Sedlar’s goal is to help men and women break through the silver ceiling! Ms. Sedlar has over 20 years of experience in the consumer marketing and professional services arena. She has done extensive work in the areas of professional development and change. From 1987 to 1994, she was Editor-at-Large of Working Woman magazine, challenging women to break through the glass ceiling. Previous to that she was Director of Corporate Affairs for the Working Woman/Working Mother Group where she worked on key issues, including work/life balance, female entrepreneurship, and flex time in conjunction with the Small Business Administration and the Department of Labor. She was formerly a partner in SEDLAR & MINERS, an executive search firm in New York City, specializing in the recruitment of senior management. She sits on the board of several non-profit organizations and is only the second woman to sit on the board of the USS Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum. She is currently a board member of Charles & Colvard, a NASDAQ-traded company. A graduate of Michigan State she resides in New York City with her co-author husband, Rick Miners.
