Mark Schwartz

Mark Schwartz has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Gordon Brothers Group since September 2004 and as the President since September 2002. Prior to joining Gordon Brothers Group, Mr. Schwartz served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Palladin Capital Group, Inc., a New York-based merchant-banking firm, since August 1997. As part of his role with Palladin Capital Group, Mr. Schwartz also served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nine West Group, Inc., managing its restructuring and integration into Jones Apparel Group, Inc. in 1999 and 2000. From 1994-1997, Mr. Schwartz was a member of Rosecliff, Inc., a New York-based investment firm, most recently as President. From 1985-1994, Mr. Schwartz was a member of the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch where he primarily managed debt and equity offerings and mergers and acquisitions for consumer product companies. From 1979-1983, Mr. Schwartz was an officer of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. Mr. Schwartz is a current or former board member of several GBMP companies, including Como Fred David, Spencer Gifts, Laura Secord, Things Remembered and Clair de Lune, and is a trustee of the Institute of Contemporary Art and the Big Apple Circus. Mr. Schwartz earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
