Larry Abele is one of the founding partners of Auriel Capital Management in London and spends his time researching quantitative strategies and risk management techniques. Prior to founding Auriel Capital in 2004, Larry was a Managing Director at Deutsche Asset Management where he pioneered a global macro investment program as head of Quantitative Strategies and the Portfolio Engineering Group. In April 2003, he also became responsible for quantitative US and European stock selection strategies. Prior to joining DeAM in 2000, he worked as a senior researcher for the Global Tactical Asset Allocation program at Barclays Global Investors. Larry started his career at First Quadrant working as a systematic global macro researcher and portfolio manager for currency overlay accounts after completing a MPhil at Cambridge University in 1996. In 2007 Larry was named one of the twenty "rising stars" in hedge funds by Institutional Investor Magazine.
