Alan Stuart is currently Managing Member of A.L. Stuart Financial Services, LLC, the parent company of A.L Stuart Investments, LLC (RIA) and A.L. Stuart Family Office, LLC, which were established in 2012. Prior to this he is was Managing Member of A. L. Stuart and Co., LLC, a private merchant banking firm, which he founded in 1985. Mr. Stuart’s primary investment focus is in both public and private companies for our investors and his family.
Over the past years he has been a principal founder of several businesses.He was a partner in Stuart Brothers/New York Hanseatic, for 15 years a corporate and government bond dealer duly recognized as one the 26 Federal Reserve Reporting Government Dealers and a member of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). From 1972-1985, he was a principal in Stuarco Resources, Inc., whose business focus was oil and gas exploration and drilling.
Alan has served as an advisor to several public and private companies. He served on the board of Lowenstein Corp (NYSE) from 1970-1986, was chairman of its audit and compensation committee and member of its executive committee. He served on the Board of Alpine Group (NYSE) from 1981-1991 and served as chairman of its audit committee. In addition, he was a principal shareholder and member of the board of directors of Union Bank and Trust of Colorado from 1970-1985. He is currently a principal shareholder and member of the board of directors of several other privately controlled companies, including BRS, LLC, a dental software company, Colonial Management Group, one of the largest substance abuse clinics in the United States. He is a principal shareholder ofTulsa Inspection Resources, the largest independent pipeline inspection service company in the United States.
Alan graduated Brown University with an AB in 1959, attended Boston University Law School, and studied finance at New York University. From 1977-1986 he was a member of the Young Presidents Organization. In 1986 he was elected to its continuing organization, Chief Executives Organization. While a resident of Harrison, New York, he served as chairman of the town’s Finance and Budget Committee from 1984-1994. He has been a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts since 1975. He also serves on various non-profit boards.
Alan is married to his wife of 52 years, Jacqueline, who is a retired bankruptcy attorney formerly of Weil, Gotshal and Manges. They live in Greenwich, CT; have three grown daughters and four grandchildren.
