Prior to joining Hakluyt in 2010, Nick spent ten years in the UK Diplomatic Service, with stints in Brussels, including on secondment to the European Commission (in the cabinet of Chris Patten), and as a foreign policy adviser to Prime Minister Tony Blair. Among other policy areas, he covered EU economic, financial and regulatory affairs, the former Soviet Union, counter-terrorism and the Middle East. He later became Tony Blair’s chief of staff, setting up his post-government operations as Quartet Representative, and his commercial consultancy. Nick has a BA from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc from the London School of Economics.
