Holly Morrow
Based in New York, Holly joined Hakluyt in 2015 from Harvard University, where she was a fellow in the Geopolitics of Energy Project at the Kennedy School of Government, focusing on energy issues in Asia, particularly the prospects for unconventional energy (shale gas and coal bed methane) in selected countries. Prior to Harvard, Holly worked for ExxonMobil advising the company on government relations and business strategy in Asia, especially China, Indonesia, Vietnam/South China Sea, and Myanmar. Previously Holly had a career in government service, beginning as a China analyst at the US Department of State, becoming Vice President Cheney’s special adviser for Asia, and later the National Security Council’s director for Southeast Asia. Holly received her MA in East Asian Studies from Harvard, her BA in Political Science from Georgetown University, and lived in China for several years as a student.
