CEO, Eel River Organics

JEFF GUILLOT started Eel River Organics (ERO) in 2015 to demonstrate how the US cannabis industry will mature and scale, while producing high quality products, in a post-prohibition regulatory environment. ERO is based on a traditional agricultural production platform and mill model, that is sustainable for the environment, for the business, and for investors. Jeff grew up in NE Texas/Louisiana Oil & Gas business, building offshore oil platforms and gas plants in college, and working with family to start energy sector engineering, construction, and services businesses on the Gulf Coast. He graduated from The University of Texas Austin in 1986 and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering. After college, Jeff worked for Andersen Consulting, which became Accenture, where Jeff led teams building key technology infrastructure during major inflection points – MA Bell divestiture, major re-engineering of mainframe services to client server and mid-tier computing platforms, moving business functions to cloud computing/early internet-based business solutions. In 1996 Jeff was recruited to Dell Computers to lead initiative to run Dell on Dell (PC/Server) computing platform for just-in-time manufacturing and internet/ecommerce platforms; then scaled Software and Peripherals ecommerce business systems to enable growth from $200 million to $2 billion in less than one year; The S&P platform enabled substantial growth with almost 0% increases in operating costs. From 2000-2005, Jeff explored dot.com start-ups through the bust and was then recruited by Netsolve as CTO/VP of technology and services development group to serve the emerging IP Telephony industry; purchased by Cisco in 2004. He led the global rollout to Cisco channel partner network From 2005 – 2008 Jeff was recruited by D&B/Hoovers as VP of Internet Sales & Marketing Products, to develop products and technology platforms for Dun & Bradstreet’s internet sales and marketing product divisions. From 2008 – 2015, Jeff took over his family’s energy sector business in 2008 providing power and steam solutions to industrial users (power plants for petrochemical plants, refineries, industrial facilities), which was sold to Private Equity in 2015. From 2013-2015, Jeff entered the Cannabis industry as a partner at Privateer Holdings in 2013, where one of Jeff’s projects was Start-Up CEO of Tilray, a vertically integrated Canadian LP, now traded on Nasdaq (NADAQ TLRY) Jeff is the Co-founder of Be Strong Fight On, 501c3 dedicated to funding ground-breaking cancer therapies for pediatric Leukemia patients in honor of his son, Zach, who died from chemotherapy toxicity at 9 years old after a 4-year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Jeff and his wife have raised over $10 million over the past 5 years that has all gone to discovery of new drugs and targets for immunotherapies, and recently joined forces with the Leukemia and Lymphoma society to launch a $50 million pediatric cancer master trial program to support application of personalized therapies to high risk pediatric leukemia cases.
