Alyse Killeen
Alyse Killeen, Managing Director of StillMark, L.P., is a venture capitalist with eight years of seed stage to pre-IPO investment experience in infrastructure, enterprise, and consumer technologies. She is one of the first venture capitalists to participate as an institutional investor and advisor in the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystems, as early as 2013, and has authored two academic book chapters on blockchain technology. “The Confluence of Bitcoin and the Global Sharing Economy”, was published in the award-winning Handbook of Digital Currency (Elsevier 2015) and “Global Financial Institutions 2.0”, a collaboration with coauthor Dr. R. Chan of World Bank, was published in Handbook of Blockchain, Digital Finance, and Inclusion (Elsevier 2017). Killeen is a global speaker for groups and publishers including IMF, Bloomberg, and Channel NewsAsia (see Bloomberg TV segment from June 2019: https://youtu.be/xS9D_aRDvaM). In 2017, International Business Times (IBT) recognized Alyse’s contribution to the development of the blockchain ecosystem by including her as a Top 5 VC on IBT’s “VCs Powering the Blockchain Boom” List. In 2016, Killeen was appointed a Fintech Fellow at Singapore University of Social Sciences and in 2015 UN Foundation named her a Top 70 Bay Area Digital Leader. Today, Killeen is the Independent Director on Blockstream’s Board of Directors, chaired by Reid Hoffman, and Emeritus Board Director at BitGive, Bitcoin’s first 501(c)3. Blockstream was recognized on the Wall Street Journal’s Top 25 Tech Companies to Watch List in position 2 in 2018 and promotes the advancement of full-stack Bitcoin infrastructure, from enterprise cohosting services to satellite software. StillMark Fund I launched in June and invests in pre-seed through Series A stage companies for equity ownership, and is focused on the Bitcoin blockchain ecosystem.
