Brian D. Jones, Partner and co-founder of BankCap Partners, has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, largely focused on commercial banking. Mr. Jones serves on the boards of Atlantic Capital Bank in Atlanta, GA and Xenith Bank in Richmond, VA, both BankCap portfolio companies. Mr. Jones is chairman of the risk committee and member of the executive committee of Atlantic Capital. With Xenith, he is a member of the executive and credit committees. In his partner role, Mr. Jones focuses on transaction sourcing and structuring, capital raising activities and oversight of BankCap’s portfolio investments. Mr. Jones began his business career in accounting at Touche Ross and quickly moved to investment banking at Bear, Stearns & Co., where he worked in their financial institutions practice for 13 years. Originally based in Los Angeles, Mr. Jones moved to New York in 1994 and then to Dallas in 1997. He was named Senior Managing Director, Investment Banking in 2000. During his career at Bear Stearns he focused on providing investment banking services to commercial banks and other financial institutions. In 2002, Mr. Jones took a position at Carreker Corporation (a financial services technology firm now owned by FiServ) as Executive Vice President responsible for M&A and strategic planning. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University and is a C.P.A. Mr. Jones is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and he is on the boards of Cambridge School of Dallas and Go International. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, skiing, travel, and fly fishing. Mr. Jones lives with his wife Pam and their five children in Dallas.
