Earle S. Altman, Chairman of ABS Partners Real Estate, LLC, is a highly respected member of the New York real estate industry. He spent over 40 years at Helmsley-Spear, Inc., which was then one of the largest real estate firms in the country. As Senior Vice President, he was in charge of its Sales and Leasing Divisions. Along with Gregg Schenker, CEO of ABS Partners, Steven Hornstock, and Peter Burack, they formed ABS Partners Real Estate, LLC, in 2000, where Mr. Altman works in ABS’s Acquisitions, Sales, Management, Leasing, and Advisory groups. Along with a group of long-time, active working partners and has managed, leased and sold commercial and residential buildings well in excess of a billion dollars. Years before loft conversion became popular, Mr. Altman helped pioneer the conversion of loft and commercial buildings into residential co-ops and condominiums by consistently citing the fundamental land, building, and conversion values versus ground-up construction, encouraging urban pioneers to take advantage of mid-Manhattan values. Mr. Altman is on the New York City Advisory Board of the M&T Bank and has been a member of its Real Estate Loan Committee since 1989. He was honored as both “Young Man of the Year” in 1971, and in 1982, its “Senior Man of the Year” by the Young Men’slWomen’s Real Estate Association of New York, an honor society of young real estate professionals, of which he was in 1964, Chairman of its Board of Governors. Earle Altman is also on the Board of Directors of The Realty Foundation of New York. Mr. Altman has served as a member of the Board of Governors of The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) as well as a three-time Chairman of its prestigious Sales Broker Committee. Along with Linda, his wife of 50+ years, he is active in a variety of charitable organizations, and is a strong supporter and Co-Chairman of the Real Estate Council of Carnegie Hall, as well as a benefactor of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM), where Linda serves as a member of its Board and Executive Committee. He has been a guest lecturer at both Cornell University and New York University. As an evening student, he was also President of the Real Estate Society of Baruch College, and was recently honored as an “Alumni of Distinction”, where he presently serves as a member of the Advisory Board of its Newman Real Estate Institute. He served in the United States Marine Corps, and was cited as “The Outstanding Member” of his 78-man Platoon, upon completion of Boot Camp Training at Parris Island. Throughout his career, Mr. Altman has consistently worked to uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism, and to encourage real estate industry programs that benefit New York City as well as the real estate industry. Currently, Mr. Altman is working to help create a program to build 3,000 co-op and condo apartments for New York City teachers, nurses, firefighters, and police officers on 2% square blocks of land on Queens Boulevard, just over the 59’x’ Street Bridge, to include a 250,000 square foot municipal garage on its 100,000 square foot, 39,800 square foot, and 120,000 square foot sites, as well as two 60,000 to 100,000 square foot, 24/7 drive-in supermarkets. Both plots are at a subway stop, just 12 to 14 minutes from Grand Central Station.
