Mr. Howard John Atkinson, CFA, CIMA, is the President and Director at AlphaPro Management Inc. since 2008. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Horizon ETFs, President since 2008 and Director since 2006 at Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. Mr. Atkinson is the President and Director of JovFunds Inc. since 2008. He joined Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. as an Executive Vice President in October 2006. Prior to joining Horizons, Mr. Atkinson was responsible for business development of the exchange traded products business at Barclays Global Investors Canada Limited, where he served as Head of Public Funds and also served as its Head of Business Development, Exchange Traded Products from 2000 to 2006. He was a Corporate Development and Investment Professional at BlackRock Asset Management Canada Limited. He is a Non-Executive Director of BetaShares Capital Limited. Mr. Atkinson is an Independent Director of Yangaroo Inc. since November 16, 2007. He is a Member of the Advisory Panel of S&P/TSX Canada Index. Mr. Atkinson was a Director of PetroWorth Resources Inc. from May 08, 2007 to June 25, 2009. He was the President of Toronto CFA Society Board of Directors. Mr. Atkinson is the author of “The New Investment Frontier III: A Guide to Exchange Traded Funds for Canadians” and “Les Fonds Negocies en Bourse: Un outil de placement novateur pour l’investisseur avise”. He is a Contributing Writer and Frequent Analyst reference in many major Canadian newspapers, including The Globe & Mail, National Post, Toronto Star, Vancouver Sun, and Ottawa Citizen. Mr. Atkinson has contributed to a number of publications. He has appeared on Global TV and can be seen regularly on BNN (Business News Network) and CP24. In February 2010, Mr. Atkinson was recognized by ACTIF as the Top Educator for his efforts to foster financial literacy among Canadians. He achieved the ICD.D. designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Mr. Atkinson is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of New Orleans.
