Komal S. Sri-Kumar

Dr. Sri-Kumar has been associated with asset allocation at TCW since its founding in 1991, and has chaired the firm’s Comprehensive Asset Allocation Committee since 1997.  The strategy manages specific client mandates of about $1.5 billion across a broad array of global asset classes including U.S. and foreign equities and fixed income, private equity, energy and real estate.  Dr. Sri-Kumar is also TCW’s Chief Global Strategist with responsibility for advising portfolio managers, and help raise assets for the various strategies. Dr. Sri-Kumar has spoken at several conferences on the global economic outlook.  His articles and interviews have been published in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and the Financial Times.  He is also interviewed frequently on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Fox Business.Prior to joining TCW in 1990, Dr. Sri-Kumar was Senior Vice President at Drexel Burnham Lambert and Executive Vice President of DBL Americas, responsible for country risk analysis. Before Drexel, he was President of the New York-based Country Risk Consulting Service, which he founded to advise Big Eight accounting firms, and investment and commercial banks, on Latin American countries’ debt service capacity.Dr. Sri-Kumar holds an M.A. from the Delhi School of Economics, and M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University.  His doctoral dissertation at Columbia was supervised by Professor Robert Mundell, Nobel Laureate in Economics (1999).
