Steve Evanson

Steven received a Ph.D. in research psychology in 1975 from U.C.S.C. with an emphasis on statistics, measurement, and research methodology and a clinical license in 1978. He practiced clinical psychology and consulted in a variety of areas until 1988, when he joined Dean Witter as a broker. In 1992 he helped open the Monterey office of A.G. Edwards and in 1995 began the business that evolved into Evanson Asset Management (EAM). Since 1995, his firm has specialized in passive and index investing using DFA funds, ETF’s and other passive strategies, and offered low fixed annual retainer fees rather than charging a percentage on assets. Steven lives in Carmel, CA.
