WHY THE ULTRA-RICH ARE TURNING TO PRIVATE EQUITY

TIGER 21’s CEO Barbara Goodstein was interviewed on Yahoo! Finance last week, where she discussed why investors are turning to private equity during this historically low-income rate environment. Key takeaways from the interview include:

• There has been an uptick in private equity allocations (23% on average of TIGER 21 Members current porfolios) amongst TIGER 21 Members because private equity can offer higher returns, new opportunities, and long-term growth.
• Many TIGER 21 Members invest in real estate, in each other, and in businesses they have grown; however, they are beginning to look for returns in non-traditional opportunities, as a result of this low-income environment.
• People join TIGER 21 to learn how to invest in other asset classes outside of their comfort zones and teach other Members in their group about new investment opportunities and asset classes in their wheelhouses.
