  Mike Ecklund is Chair of Houston 06. Mike has 25+ years of real estate and finance experience. His experience includes structuring joint ventures, acquisitions, development, accounting, and investment management, with acquisition officer responsibility for approximately $1 billion in investment across asset classes and in multiple U.S. markets. Before Morningside, Mike was with Cathexis and Lionstone Investments, where he sourced, structured, and managed multiple real estate asset types in numerous markets. Prior to Lionstone and Cathexis, Mike served as the International Controller at Hines. Mike received a degree in Managerial Studies from Rice University and a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Mike currently sits on the Board of the Leonard Wood Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.

  Jarvan Shen is Chair of Houston 04 and a Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Mount Auburn, a US-based multifamily private real estate investment trust (REIT), owning and managing approximately $2.5 billion of stabilized, Class A multifamily assets in high growth US markets. In addition, Mount Auburn manages approximately $1.0 billion of assets on behalf of a sovereign wealth fund through joint ventures affiliated with the private REIT. Shen also manages his own family and friends’ capital through his multi-family office. Prior to forming Mount Auburn in 2008, Shen worked in various capacities in private equity, hedge funds, derivatives trading, structured products, and investment banking. Shen graduated from Dartmouth College with a dual BA in Economics and Government and attended Harvard Law School.
