Rick Miners is an entrepreneur, writer, speaker and expert on the flexible workforce. He is the co-author of the books, DON'T RETIRE REWIRE! and ON TARGET, Enhance your Life and Ensure Your Success. He has appeared on radio and television including the Today Show, CNN, PBS, and is frequently quoted in the press on the changing face of retirement. He has spoken to major corporations and institutions that are continually looking for ways to maintain a competitive edge in a global economy. He has published numerous articles regarding the changing dynamic of work and retirement and how it is effecting individuals and corporations. Mr. Miners was co-founder and President of FlexCorp Systems, a highly successful outsourcing firm providing payrolling, benefits and human resource support for the flexible workforce of major corporations. The company was started in 2000 to assist Fortune 500 companies with their flexible staffing initiatives. In 2005 the company was cited by Inc. Magazine in its list of the 500 fastest growing privately owned companies in the United States. FlexCorp Systems was number 119. The company was sold in January, 2006 to ZeroChaos, one of the nation’s fastest growing human resources firms. He serves as a consultant to ZeroChaos on the dynamics of the aging workforce and the resulting impact on corporations. Currently, Mr. Miners is a principal in the strategic consulting firm, SEDLAR & MINERS, which provides rewirement® solutions for organizations and individuals who want to capitalize on the new model of retirement. He is the former president of Goodrich and Sherwood, a multi-practice management consulting firm specializing in the human resources including recruitment, outplacement, and executive coaching. His corporate experience included sales and marketing positions with Avon Products, American Home Products, and Tetley, Inc. Prior to starting FlexCorp Systems, he was the managing partner of the executive search firm of Sedlar & Miners. He serves as Senior Warden of the Church of the Epiphany in Manhattan, is active in the Episcopal Diocese of New York, and is a supporter of the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, which includes Iraq and Yemen. Mr. Miners is a graduate of Wake Forest University, and served as a member of the Board of Advisors of the University's Calloway School of Business and Accountancy. He is a member of the Society of Human Resource Managers and the Institute of Supply Management. He resides in New York City with his business partner/co-author wife, Jeri Sedlar. He is presently conducting research for a new book on the subject of couples and retirement.
