After graduating from Lehigh University with a BS in Electrical Engineering, Robert Zoellner served two years in the Air Force, before embarking on a career on Wall Street. He was a Managing Partner in charge of arbitrage, equity trading and bond trading with a NYSE member firm and then in 1976, founded Alpine Associates Advisors. Since its inception in 1976, Alpine has generated 19% annualized returns with low correlation to the market and only one losing year. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys small game hunting in addition to fishing for both trout and tarpon.  In 1996 he was recognized as the first person to have ever collected the entire United States stamp collection. Mr. Zoellner lives in Alpine, NJ with his wife and is active in many charitable foundations and educational institutions.
