Carl F. Schwartz, chair of one of New York’s largest real estate practices and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, has more than 25 years of experience advising the real estate industry’s leading developers and lenders in prominent acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Mr. Schwartz works on some of the highest profile deals closing in New York City.He is currently working on a $500 million mixed-use project at 57th Street and Second Avenue that will rehabilitate two public schools, add 170,000 square feet of retail space, and create a 59-story apartment tower. He has recently represented the World-Wide Group in a complex loan financing relating to 50 Murray Street, which REBNY named one of 2007’s “most ingenious deals of the year,” and is representing the New York Yankees in the development of their new stadium.Mr. Schwartz was ranked as one of the top real estate lawyers in New York in The Legal 500 United States 2007 and 2008 editions, in which Carl was praised for “understanding the art of making a deal.” He is also ranked in the Chambers USA 2007 edition, and Real Estate Weekly named him as one if its 2008 All Stars. In addition, he was the subject of a New York Times profile entitled “Finding a True Passion in Real Estate Law” in 2006.
